MPS Group acquires Abednego Environmental, expanding its business in Canada
Farmington Hills, Mich. – MPS Group, a Farmington Hills-based company providing specialized industrial and waste management services, has acquired Abednego Environmental of Canada, a leading provider of industrial wastewater treatment and comprehensive automotive paint services in Canada.
“The acquisition of Abednego Environmental builds on our 15-year presence in Canada and will serve to diversify our portfolio, adding industrial wastewater treatment to complement our longstanding automotive paint service for our automotive customers in Canada,” said Ed Schwartz, president and CEO of MPS Group. “We are excited to integrate our new colleagues into our growing MPS Group team.”
This marks MPS Group’s second acquisition in six months. In August of 2018, MPS Group acquired EnE Consultants, expanding its presence into the Gulf States and adding oil and gas consulting to its portfolio of services. These acquisitions are a component of the company’s overall growth strategy, which has increased revenue by 45 percent in three years and now with a North American team of nearly 650 employees.
MPS Group is a privately held certified Minority Business Enterprise that services broad range of industry-leading clients focused heavily in automotive and steel manufacturing. Abednego has a 25-plus-year history in the automotive paint industry in Canada, and its operations will continue to be led by Cam Seatle, who has managed the company for over 10 years.
MPS Group began in 1995 and has offices in Michigan Ohio and Louisiana, and a presence at customer locations in more than 28 U.S. states, Canada and Mexico.
